Prior to his first NCAA season, Werner played his junior hockey in the USHL with the Lincoln Stars, Youngstown Phantoms, Omaha Lancers and Tri-City Storm where he had 33 goals and 64 points in 106 games across three seasons.
Werner also played one season in the NAHL with the New Jersey Junior Titans, scoring 21 goals and adding 15 assists for 36 points in 40 games.
With three seasons of eligibility left, Werner joins a Wolverines team that will see quite a bit of turnover from last year – with multiple players signing entry-level deals or entering the transfer portal.
With that being said, Werner joins a Wolverines team that still boasts the likes of Rutger McGroarty, Nick Moldenhauer and T.J. Hughes up front.
Having produced at a 0.60 points per game rate during his freshman season, Michigan fans should be excited for Werner as he has the chance to turn into a solid depth player for the Wolverines.
