Phantoms Selects Head to World Hockey Championships in Austria

Gear up for an extraordinary hockey expedition as Phantoms Selects take center stage at the World Hockey Championships in the picturesque city of Innsbruck, Austria. As one of the few North American teams invited to this elite international event, our boys will face off against top AAA Hockey Clubs from 15 countries, showcasing their skills in a global arena.

With a commitment to providing unforgettable hockey experiences, the World Hockey Championships spotlights top hockey cities and countries, and Innsbruck stands as the pinnacle for 2024. The tournament features 12-16 elite teams in each age category, combining European and North American powerhouses.

All the action unfolds at the prestigious TIWAG and OLYMPIAHALL Rinks, hallowed grounds that have hosted two Olympics and the World Championship. Phantoms Selects will enjoy dedicated team locker rooms for the entire tournament, ensuring a home-away-from-home experience. The rinks come alive with announcers, music, a professional staff, a restaurant, and a sporting goods store.

Our teams, representing various birth years, will be led by the seasoned staff of the USHL Youngstown Phantoms, the 2023 Clark Cup Champions. Six games are guaranteed, each lasting 75 minutes, with additional practice sessions in Innsbruck to fine-tune skills and strategies.

Phantoms Selects won’t just compete on the ice; they’ll also explore the charm of Innsbruck and its surrounding towns in Austria, Germany, and Italy. A seven-night stay in an Innsbruck hotel with daily breakfast sets the stage for a memorable journey. Airport transportation and shuttles for organized events and tours ensure a seamless and stress-free experience.
